Avatar New York Takes Fight2BFit Website Design ‘Challenge’ and Launches an Advanced Custom Application Focused on Improving Youth Fitness

The new website design by Avatar New York is an online youth fitness program - The F2BFit Challenge - that promotes team work, social responsibility and healthy life style choices. Sue Wicks, a legend in women's basketball, co-founded the innovative online platform.

The website brings together the vision we had for Fight2BFit from the beginning but in a way that would not have been possible if not for their tremendous effort in helping us develop and refine our ideas.

Avatar New York announced today the launch of Fight2BFit, a new interactive online educational platform that teaches youth healthy habits. The Fight2BFit platform incorporates a completely custom website design, front-end development, and back-end content management system with many user-friendly program administration tools.

By emphasizing team work, positive role models, and prize incentives, the website promotes improvements in fitness levels and quality of life with prizes for positive behavior. Participants can log in and receive instructions, view their own progress and individual and team standings on a daily basis.

“Launching the Fight2BFit website represents a personal achievement for, but, more importantly, what I hope to be, a tool to help kids achieve their own personal goals through improved health and fitness. The Avatar New York team not only brought fantastic information architecture and design skills to this multifaceted project, they also helped us think through and plan for the very real implications of our vision for serving today’s youth,” says Founder, Sue Wicks.

In addition to tools designed to aid teachers and educators manage and monitor the progress of their youth fitness programs, the website showcases a number of innovative design and technology features, many built specifically for Fight2BFit. Students can log in on a daily basis for

  •     quiz questions
  •     individual or team progress and standings

  •     manage participants and groups

“Understanding the website's user groups and their unique goals,” says Geoff Nazzaro, Avatar New York’s Chief Information Architect, “allowed us to design and build a custom application with a tool set appropriate to accomplishing those goals.”

Fight2BFit is the brainchild of Sue Wicks and Corinne Nevinny. Sue is a legend in Women's Basketball, whose professional career spanned 15 years in various leagues overseas as well as the WNBA. She has been decorated with numerous awards, including National Player of the Year, Sportsmanship Awards and WNBA All Star honors. She is currently a sports ambassador for the US State Department.

Corinne Nevinny was a member of the National Championship Stanford Women's tennis team. She is a Harvard business school graduate who enjoyed a successful career as a business executive in an S&P 500 company and is currently General Partner of LMNVC LLC, an angel venture capital fund.
