Litco Systems Inc. and Surrey Fire Services Enter into a Development Agreement to Create a Fire Department Operations and Staffing Dashboard to Provide the Power of Data Discovery to North American Fire Departments.

Litco Systems Inc., a Canadian company and leading provider of Document Process Automation, Business Intelligence (BI) and Agile Development solutions and Surrey Fire Service, today announced they have entered into a development agreement to create a Fire Department Operations and Staffing Dashboard.

Surrey Fire Service’s Challenges

Like many fire departments, Surrey Fire Service is collecting data but faces challenges in analyzing it. Six or seven employees are engaged to provide monthly statistical reports that are circulated in hard copy, often in a variety of formats. This is not only time consuming, but results in the data usually being obsolete by the time it’s received. As a progressive organization that wants to be able to make business decisions on evidence collected, Surrey Fire Service needs real-time information that can be accessed easily by staff at various levels.

A Development Agreement is Initiated

As a result of their own challenges and knowledge that other fire departments are experiencing similar issues, a collaborative development effort is in progress. Surrey Fire Service is providing the industry expertise and Litco Systems is providing the development expertise. The Operations and Staffing Dashboard will provide the most important information fire departments require including: call performance, response times, inspections and property data, personnel absences and staffing levels. The dashboard will be designed to allow Administration staff to quickly and
effectively report on the key performance indicators within an organization in a realtime system. The underlying product, QlikView, will provide the ability for the Dashboard to be integrated with the systems and databases in use at other fire departments, while providing the ability to create additional dashboards to analyze other business areas as required.
