Dubuque, Iowa (PRWEB) May 30, 2012
To better serve its customers as well as educators across the nation, Kendall Hunt has announced that it will be holding its National Professional Development Conference in two locations this summer.
The first session will be held July 11 - 12 in White Plains, NY, with a second session following on July 31 - August 1 in Milwaukee, WI. Workshop sessions will be held from 8:00 am to 3:30 pm and will focus on on supporting student learning through mathematical tasks, assessment, and lesson planning that align to the new standards.
The conferences feature two strands: Common Core State Standards (CCSS) Implementation and Instructional Leadership. Implementation sessions will focus on each content standards area, including Algebra and Functions, and Geometry. The leadership sessions are designed to help math leaders and adminstrators plan for CCSS implementation and will provide tools and knowledge to successfully monitor and support teachers throughout the process.
"Users of Kendall Hunt's middle school curriculum, Math Innovations, and our Discovering Mathematics high school algebra and geometry programs will find the conference extremely beneficial," said Laura Lottes, senior professional development manager. "Our goal is to demystify the Common Core State Standards and provide educators with the leadership tools and support they need to successfully implement the new standards in their districts and classrooms."
Conference fees are $190 for one day and $380 for two days and cover the cost of daily instruction, breakfast, and lunch. Discounted lodging rates are available at the conference venues for conference participants.
Additional support for the conference has been provided by Casio.
