HANOVER (PRWEB) May 01, 2012
Animal Welfare Organization Insurance Program, LLC, a provider of insurance and best practice solutions for animal welfare organizations across the country, recently sponsored two sessions presented by the Smart Dog School of Fundraising. These sessions were held in Cleveland, Ohio and Chicago, Illinois. The sessions were well attended including small foster based operations, large humane societies, and many in between groups.
Brian Barrick attended both sessions and provided a powerful hour long presentation on managing risks in your animal shelter. He focused on helping the attendees pinpoint what specific risks may be endangering their shelters and explained how important it was to minimize these risks. Tools were discussed and demonstrated on how to minimize, control or transfer the exposures to risk that shelters, rescues and other animal welfare organizations may encounter. Even organizations doing only TNR (trap, neuter, release) can be part of a large multi-million dollar lawsuit. Barrick felt that “Organizations walked away with a new understanding of the unique exposures to risk that animal welfare organizations face & a plan to minimize those risks”.
Brian Barrick looks forward to speaking at future events and helping the animal welfare organizations across the United States become more aware of their risks. He enjoys meeting the numerous different organizations and finding ways to help them continue the quality care they are providing for animals in their area.
