YogiPlay is the brainchild of husband and wife team Cedric and Michal Sellin who are Stanford University alumni and engineers by training with entrepreneurial backgrounds. Cedric was a founding team member of Aruba Wireless Networks while Michal was one of the first engineers at Google. The Sellins decided to take their technical expertise in search and data analytics, and apply it to enhancing app recommendations within the mobile learning space for kids.

“When our daughter was two, we noticed on a long plane flight how engaged she was with a tablet, and at that moment we realized the learning potential these devices could have for children of her age.
