FIBERTOWN, a premier provider of high availability Houston data centers and business continuity offices, announced today that the Houston division of Danish oil and shipping company, Maersk Oil, selected FIBERTOWN data centers for high-performance colocation of its mission critical and disaster recovery systems.

The growing oil and gas conglomerate will leverage the private gateway between FIBERTOWN colocation facilities to communicate between its production systems in Houston and disaster recovery systems in Bryan/College Station.

“The crucial requirements for Maersk Oil were finding a colocation provider with no history of downtime and the ability to help them grow with no restrictions,” said Brandon Perryman, senior vice president for FIBERTOWN.

Maersk Oil faced a common infrastructure problem, as it could no longer support multiple data centers and the growing demand for space and power. Colocation provides an alternative to building or updating data center capacity while ensuring the highest levels of security, power, cooling and connectivity.

“FIBERTOWN provides data center solutions with the precise mix of performance, security and customer service to meet our needs cost-effectively and best support our continued growth,” said Mark Lennon, Head of IT Americas for Maersk Oil. “We know we can scale quickly and rely on FIBERTOWN for the upmost levels of redundancy.”
