BlackBerry World 2012, Orlando Florida (PRWEB) May 01, 2012
Occipital announced this morning plans to bring their best selling app, 360 Panorama, to the new BlackBerry® 10 platform.
360 Panorama Product Manager Candemir Orsan gave BlackBerry World attendees the first look at 360 Panorama on the BlackBerry 10 platform, capturing a panorama on a BlackBerry 10 Dev Alpha test device live on stage. In a discussion with Martyn Mallick, Vice President, Global Alliances and Business Development at Research In Motion (RIM), Candemir Orsan spoke to the ease and speed of bringing 360 Panorama to the BlackBerry 10 platform, revealing that the app had been ported to the BlackBerry 10 platform in just two weeks.
Explaining the decision to bring 360 Panorama to the BlackBerry 10 platform, Occipital Co-Founder and CEO Jeffrey Powers says, "With 360 Panorama, Occipital is pushing the boundaries of photography on mobile devices. When evaluating the technical viability of a platform, we consider three areas: camera, sensors, and processing and graphics capabilities. BlackBerry 10 met and often exceeded our expectations for each of these areas.”
“We are thrilled that Occipital will be supporting BlackBerry 10. The 360 Panorama app lets customers create amazingly immersive photos and demonstrates the power of the BlackBerry 10 platform,” said Martyn Mallick.
The app also includes functionality to easily share panoramas with friends, family and the world through a number of built-in features. Users can share interactive 360 degree views on Facebook, Twitter, or through email, and upload their panoramas to a free Occipital account for secure cloud storage, further enhancement, and embedding on blogs.
