Dormroom2Boardroom to host Cover Letter Week in order to educate job seekers to help them reach their career goals.

In the modern age, when most job applications are done online, many people opt to skip on uploading a cover letter and get right to their resume. This is a big No-No according to Jessica, an HR professional in Houston, TX who has seen a lot of job applications minus a cover letter:

“Your cover letter gives an employer a snap shot of you. It’s an important part of your sales pitch and can improve your chances of getting an interview.” For those that don’t submit a cover letter, she states, it’s possible that, “you’ll just be applying and applying without ever getting called in for an interview.”

For those that don’t know how to effectively write a cover letter, or don't even truly know what one is, there is good news.

Dormroom2Boardroom.com is setting out to educate job seekers on writing cover letters through Cover Letter Week. Cover Letter Week at Dormroom2Boardroom.com will be May 1st – 7th and is designed to provide an entire week of articles, tips, information, and sample cover letters for job seekers to take advantage of. The goal is to educate and empower people to better market themselves so that they can get the career they want.
