PAB to participate in Highmark Walk on May 19th and raise $15,000

On Saturday, May 19, thousands of community members will put on their walking shoes and stroll through Harrisburg Area Community College in support of the Highmark Walk for a Healthy Community. In addition to getting some important exercise, these walkers will be putting their best foot forward in support of many nonprofit organizations, including the http:// Pennsylvania Association for the Blind that are participating this year for the 7th year in a row.

This is the 7th year the event will take place in Harrisburg as Highmark Blue Shield underwrites 100 percent of the cost of walk. With complete logistical and financial support from Highmark, the walk in Harrisburg is just one of five walks that will take place throughout the state this spring. The participating nonprofit organizations are able to profit from 100 percent of the dollars raised by their supporting walkers.

The Pennsylvania Association for the Blind hopes to raise $15,000 to benefit the blind and visually impaired community in Pennsylvania.
