Liberty University is keeping its students, alumni and supporters around the world connected with the latest updates and happenings at the university, all available with the swipe of a finger on the new mobile app – Liberty Today.

The free app is available for iPhone, iPad, Android, Kindle, Blackberry and will soon be available for Windows. From news stories to streaming videos, the new app is the fastest way to get acquainted and stay connected with Liberty.

“With such a broad base of alumni, online students and donors, the Marketing Department began looking for new and innovative ways to keep the Liberty family connected and engaged,” said Ron Kennedy, Senior Vice President of Marketing. “The mobile app was created to deliver the day-by-day news and updates in the way that most people are getting information today. Liberty Today will help us share this excitement with the Liberty family on campus and all over the world.”

Browsing the app, one has the option to scroll through the latest Liberty News and Student News (provided by the Liberty Champion) or receive sports updates with breaking news, scores and schedules. Stories from the latest edition of the Liberty Journal are also available.

Users can browse photos and watch convocation, Commencement and church services via the media feature. Those unfamiliar with Liberty can learn more about the university by viewing videos and student profiles in the About Liberty section.

The app also features an up-to-date events calendar, connection to Liberty’s Facebook page and links to Liberty radio stations, Victory FM and 90.9 The Light, and the Liberty Channel.

“This (app) will make it more convenient for me as an alumnus to get all my information in one place efficiently,” said Ches Helmick (’11) of Galax, Va. “The media section allows me one place to go to watch videos and get a picture of how campus is changing that an article can’t bring.”
