Discovery Bay Games, the worldwide leader in tablet gaming accessories, today announced that Michael Sievert has been named Chief Executive Officer.
Sievert has more than 20 years of experience building well-known product brands in the consumer and technology space. Most recently, Sievert served as Chief Commercial Officer and Chair of the Operating Committee at Clearwire Corporation (CLWR), where he was responsible for P&L performance and growth. During his tenure, he oversaw revenue growth from under $200 million to over $1 billion in just two years.
Prior to Clearwire, Sievert was Cofounder and CEO of Switchbox Labs, Inc., a development lab focused on creating innovative solutions for Internet TV, sold to Lenovo in 2009; Corporate Vice President of Windows Business Group at Microsoft, Inc., where he was responsible for global marketing and general management functions; EVP and Chief Marketing Officer at AT&T Wireless, where he helped the company achieve the No. 2 revenue share in the United States; and EVP and Chief Sales and Marketing Officer at E*TRADE Financial during the late 1990s, its period of most explosive growth.
Sievert started his career in brand management at Procter & Gamble and IBM after graduating magna cum laude from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. An aviation and maritime enthusiast, Sievert lives in the Seattle area with his wife and two sons.
“Michael has a phenomenal track record of running and growing global and mobile companies,” said Gordon Gardiner, Chairman of Discovery Bay Games. “His experience with hardware and software integration as well as Internet TV is a tremendous asset to Discovery Bay Games as we continue to innovate in this space.”
