Collingwood's expertise and experience is invaluable to both these small and diverse businesses and their large company clients that can partner with these businesses.

The Collingwood Group announced today that Barney Brasseux has joined the firm as a Managing Director to assist the company and its clients expand their government contracting work. Brasseux’s addition is part of Collingwood’s continuing commitment to its clients’ business success in Washington.

Brasseux will also support Collingwood’s diverse supplier efforts, which focus on promoting small and diverse businesses seeking to grow their companies’ business within the financial services industry in both the government and private sectors.

Before joining Collinwood, Brasseux had a long and distinguished career with various agencies of the Federal Government, including two decades with the General Services Administration (GSA). Prior to his retirement from GSA in 2010, Brasseux served as Deputy Administrator from 2008 - 2010. Before that, Brasseux held Deputy and Assistant Commissioner postings with GSA’s Federal Acquisition Service, and was the Federal Supply Service’s Chief of Staff. In 2007, Brasseux received the Presidential Rank Award for Meritorious Service.

“Barney Brasseux brings an unprecedented level of insight and experience in government contracting processes and practices to our firm at a time when the demand for that unique experience is especially acute,” said Brian Montgomery, Chairman and Managing Director of The Collingwood Group. “We also expect Brasseux’s government contracting experience to be especially valuable in support of Collingwood’s diverse supplier partners and clients. One such firm that Barney will be supporting immediately is our business partner AITHERAS, an 8(a) firm with outstanding government contracting credentials, including their recent work in support of Arlington National Cemetery,” added Montgomery.

“I am thrilled by my affiliation with The Collingwood Group. Their firm is unique in the financial services industry and in the area of government contracts in particular,” said Brasseux. “Businesses frequently talk about promoting small and diverse businesses in government contracting, but I am most impressed with Collingwood’s efforts in support of the small and diverse business community. Their expertise and experience is invaluable to both these small and diverse businesses and their large company clients that can partner with these businesses,” he added.
