Globalisation has certainly and irrevocably changed the world and the people in it. However the changes introduced have not always been positive. Grounded in a 30-year experience in strategy development and implementation across 25 countries, author Jopie Coetzee invites readers on a journey out of a society gripped by destructive globalisation and introduces a new one built on an innovative and remarkably sustainable paradigm. He discusses in detail this migration and how to make it possible in his work “The Social Contract With Business: beyond the quest for global sustainability”.
Coetzee’s book is written primarily for business leaders and for movers and shakers who wish to conduct their affairs in a business-like and more meaningful manner. From a well-researched Socratic dialogue with current leaders and thinkers in the West, East and South, he came up with practical and action-oriented answers that may be used to unlock such essential questions as, “What kind of future does humanity want?”; “What society for such a future?”; “What business for such a society?”; “What business leader for such a business?”; “What education for such a business leader?” Coetzee enriches his discussion with over 100 practical examples and more than 100 reflection points and exposes more than 50 blind spots and fallacies in leadership. He concludes with application guidelines in a strategy workshop-format that business leaders can use in their own organisations. He also concludes with a paradigm-busing, new educational model for global business leaders.
Empowering, timely and necessary “The Social Contract With Business: beyond the quest for global sustainability” is a blueprint for developing a new generation of more effective and successful leaders.
