KMI (http://www.kminnovations.com) announced today that OSRAM AG, one of the world’s leading lighting manufacturers, has chosen to implement the KMI EHS Software Suite across all global operations for environment, health, safety and sustainability management.
OSRAM faced the mandate to successfully implement a global EHS software system. A key objective for OSRAM was to identify a system which was both easy to use and time efficient when entering and reporting data across a large number of complex, global facilities.
“After close examination against numerous systems, the KMI EHS Software Suite stood out as the most intuitive and easy to use,” said Michael Lorcher, Environmental Affairs, Health & Safety, OSRAM. “The software proved to exceed our requirements for data entry, scorecard reporting and global support. The fact that KMI came to the table with an off-the-shelf system which met nearly all of our requirements right out of the box and was flexible enough to be configured further within an aggressive time frame led us to choose KMI."
According to Matt Airhart, President & CEO, KMI, “We are extremely pleased to be working with OSRAM on this critical project. Not only is OSRAM a great company with a unique vision for sustainable products but they also represent another big step in our commitment to European-based global enterprises. We are finding that companies in the European Union are quick to recognize the unique benefits that the KMI platform has to offer.
OSRAM will meet complex system demands through implementation of KMI’s EHS Software, replacing existing systems and introducing new functionality to the organization. OSRAM will work with KMI through the spring of 2012 to rollout KMI’s Incident Management, Audit & Inspection, Compliance Management, Risk Management, Corrective Action, Training Tracking, Sustainability, and Reporting & Dashboards modules as part of a comprehensive EHS and Sustainability management information system (EMIS).
KMI’s EHS Software will also provide OSRAM with new reporting capabilities such as delivering visual, accurate and easy to understand global environment, health, safety and sustainability intelligence to EHS&S professionals from the facility-level to the headquarters in Germany.
OSRAM, a Siemens company which operates under the OSRAM SYLVANIA name in North America, is a high-tech company in the lighting sector, one of the two leading light manufacturers in the world, with 70 percent of its turnover coming from energy-efficient products. The company, which is headquartered in Munich, Germany and very much internationally oriented, has around 41,000 employees worldwide, supplying customers in 150 countries worldwide from its 44 production sites in 16 countries.
