The Motomarathon Association announced today that Twisted Throttle, LLC, one of the leading distributors of motorcycle parts in the industry, will sponsor the Association's first Halo Award Contest during this year's New England Motomarathon, June 7th – June 10th.
The Halo Award Contest is open to all New England Motomarathon registrants, who seal their driver’s license in an envelope at the beginning of the contest and which they then carry with them as they ride to earn checkpoints during the four-day Motomarathon. If the envelope’s seal remains unbroken for the duration of the contest–which implies that the rider was not pulled over for speeding–the participant qualifies as a finalist for prizes awarded in a random drawing. It is recommended that riders bring an alternative form of ID in case they are carded while purchasing something with a credit card during the contest. The Halo Award Contest drawing will be held Saturday night, June 9th, at the Birchbend Motolodge, in Shelburne, NH.
“The New England Motomarathon really appreciates the support of Twisted Throttle. Partnering with them adds another level of excitement to our event in June,” said Routemaster Daniel Monteiro. “Adding the Halo Award Contest is new for the Motomarathon, and a good example of its innovative spirit. The New England Motomarthon is about sport touring fun and entertaining activities, such as the Halo Award Contest and there will be some seriously nice prizes.”
The grand prize winner of the Halo Award Contest will receive a one-week trailside condo at a Colorado ski resort as well as a $50 cash prize, which represents a give back of the Motomarathon event entry fee of the same amount.
Founded in 2002, Twisted Throttle, http://www.twistedthrottle.com, is located in Exeter, RI. They will provide “Rally Bags” to all New England Motomarathon participants in addition to donating a variety of motorcycle product door prizes to the event. Twisted Throttle is also sponsoring an open house on May 19th at which the Motomarathon Association will have a table.
Kevin Nixon, marketing leader at Twisted Throttle added, “We are delighted to play a role in the growth of the New England Motomarathon, and give the Halo Award a solid push in the right direction. Twisted Throttle is very familiar with the sport touring and off-road riding crowd, and connecting with the Motomarathon Association is a very logical next step for us. A safety-related contest lines up with our values at Twisted Throttle, and we are pleased to add our support.”
The Motomarathon Association runs an annual series of 4-day rides over the best roads and best scenery in the country. Routes remain secret until the night before each day's ride, then verified at day's end through self-recorded checkpoints using digital or cell phone cameras.
