San Diego, CA (PRWEB) May 02, 2012
With the State’s solar rebate program coming to a close, a local solar incentive program has recently become available for residential property owners in San Diego County. Locally headquartered firm, Sullivan Solar Power, is administering the initiative, which will allow residents the opportunity to get paid to go solar. The company will be hosting the first program seminar at Balboa Park on Saturday, May 12.
The San Diego Solar Program is exclusive to homeowners residing in the County of San Diego. Eligible program participants are able to go solar for no out-of-pocket expense with monthly payments that are less than their current electric bill. Sixty days after a homeowner has their solar power system installed, they will receive a check for up to $2,500 for helping San Diego move towards a more sustainable future. The program has three phases with those who participate earliest receiving the highest incentives for program participation.
“The San Diego Solar Program is a game changer for those residents who have wanted to go solar but thought it was too expensive. We developed this program to allow homeowners with good credit to go solar and get paid to do so without the need for home equity or spending a dime out of pocket,” said Daniel Sullivan, founder and president of Sullivan Solar Power, “This program will result in a major spike in solar adoption for the County of San Diego and fortify this region’s position as the solar capital of the United States.”
Residents can learn about the eligibility requirements of the San Diego Solar Program and how to participate at an educational seminar being held at the Mingei International Museum (1439 El Prado, San Diego) on Saturday, May 12th at 11am. The presentation lasts one hour and lunch will be provided to those that RSVP.

About San Diego’s Solar Program
Launched April 1, 2012, this program has been developed to help the San Diego region reach its renewable energy goals. Participants are able to go solar for $0 upfront with a monthly payment equal to or less than current electric bills. In order to encourage residential property owners to go solar, substantial cash-back incentives will be paid to eligible participants. The incentives offered through the San Diego Solar Program are larger than those currently being offered under the California Solar Initiative rebate program. Cash incentives offered through the program will continue to drop until fully exhausted. San Diego’s Solar Program provides incentives on a first come - first served basis, limited to 500 homes, and will expire on December 31, 2012.
