Mountain Shepherd Wilderness Survival School, the leading provider of wilderness and urban survival and rescue training, introduces a new series of Travel Safety programs. These dynamic hands-on programs help prepare individuals to travel more safely when overseas.
With today's uncertain political climates in many countries, even a simple vacation trip or foreign work assignment can quickly become a hunt for clean water, safe shelter and medical care when disaster strikes. Issues of common street crime and kidnapping for ransom are also significant issues for tourists, workers, missionaries and journalists.
Mountain Shepherd is proud to announce the launch of this unique combination training program and person crisis response and communication system that empowers individuals from all walks of life with the skills, tools and confidence they need to endure crisis situations and coordinate their own rescue.
Mountain Shepherd is partnering with ICE PACK® Emergency Preparedness Systems LLC, a leading provider of emergency preparedness and disaster response system solutions, on the development of the EXODUS™ Personal Crisis Incident Response and Communications System. Mountain Shepherd is collaborating closely with Ashbury International on the new training and workshop components that complement ICE PACK’s EXODUS™ product offerings.
"Having the tools to stay safe and prepared is important in any environment, not just the outdoors," says Mountain Shepherd co-founder and former U.S. Air Force Survival Instructor Reggie Bennett. "Mountain Shepherd and ICE PACK Emergency Preparedness Systems are teaming up to provide a top-quality, affordable international preparedness system for everyone."
Survival skills are crucial for anyone traveling overseas -- missionaries, business executives, teachers, journalists and even ordinary vacation travelers, and their families.
Sandi Bird, a missionary from Salem, Va., learned this firsthand on a recent trip to Uganda. Despite running into violent rioting that could have turned dangerous for her and her team, she kept her cool and stayed safe thanks to her Mountain Shepherd training.
"It was more than having a survival kit and a map to know what direction to go and get to safety ... I had the confidence that I had learned critical skills that would help me and the rest of my team if things got out of hand," says Bird.
Mountain Shepherd's partnership with ICE PACK Emergency Preparedness Systems on the EXODUS™ platform marks a unique collaboration between two experienced providers of high-quality training and equipment systems integration.
Mountain Shepherd has extensive experience training a variety of military, corporate and personal clients. Our instructors have real-world Air Force survival experience and can tailor their instruction meet the needs of individuals, government agencies and corporate executives.
