The American Cancer Society in Santa Fe is setting the stage once again for the organization’s 18th Annual “Denim & Diamonds” Spring Gala fund raiser. This a "Featured Event" on the Santa Fe visitor guide website SantaFe.com calendar. The event runs from 6 to 11 p.m., Sat., May 19 and offers a wonderful evening for attendees with a cocktail reception and silent auction to start the festivities, followed by a gourmet dinner, live auction and ending with music entertaining and dancing from the country styling of the Bill Hearne Trio.
The Blue Sapphire Sponsor for the event is Christus St Vincent Regional Hospital. The Emerald Sponsors for the event include Genetech, amerbercare, Los Alamos National Bank, Los Alamos Medical Center and New Mexico Cancer Care Associates, PC. Table Sponsors for the event include Berardinelli, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Mexico, State Employees Credit Union of New Mexico, Rod and Randi Gesten, Barbara Ingram and John and Kari Rivers. Donor: Jim Kath • Value: $6,000 Medium-jumbo acoustic shape with back and sides made of highly figured lacewood. The top is made of Alaskan Sitka Spruce, the neck is Sapele Mahogany, and the fretboard is Ebony. Includes hard shell case. Hand made by custom guitar maker Jim Kath of Kath Guitars.

Framed Bronze Relief, Titled "Hope is Our Only Story" Donor & Artist: Barbara Ingram • Value: $3,000 Barbara Ingram is a contemporary Santa Fe artist who works primarily in clay, bronze and mixed media. She has created a one-of-kind bronze piece for the American Cancer Society and we are honored by her gift. This sculpture is 14" x 18" unframed.(Shown in oil clay.)
Cucina Angelica – 4-Course Italian Dinner Donor: Michelle Martinez, Cucina Angelica • Value: $1,500 Personal chef, Michelle Martinez will prepare a traditional Italian dinner and serve you and your guests in your home. This traditional Italian meal for 6 to 8 people includes wine, an antipasto, primo piatto, secundo piatto, and dolce. Winning bidder will provide all serving pieces, dinnerware, utensils, and glasses. Offer expires October 31, 2012. Please contact donor in advance to make arrangements.
Funds raised from this special event provide many free programs and services that are offered by the American Cancer Society for people of Santa Fe whose lives are challenged by cancer.
The continuing success of this event is due to dedicated community volunteers, local businesses, and individuals who provide underwriting and other financial support, including the donation of goods and services, as well as auction items. The incredible community collaboration and the contagious enthusiasm of the Spring Gala attendees combine to produce a successful event each year.
