About Tony Raines:
Tony Raines was born in Montana, but moved frequently since his father was in the Air Force. He settled for high school in La Porte, IN, and played football, basketball, and baseball. His fascination with cars, speed, and hot rodding tended to get him in trouble with his National Coach of the Year, Ken Scrieber. He graduated from Southwestern Michigan with a degree in aviation and while working for Miles Laboratories he earned his pilot’s license. During the 1980’s Raines worked on airplanes during the week and pursued his hobby of racing on the weekends. In 1990, he was named Rookie of the Year in the NASCAR All-Pro Series and in 1996, won the ASA Championship with 3 victories and 11 top 5 finishes. Raines was again Rookie of the Year in 1999 in the NASCAR Nationwide Series. In 2005, he joined Hall of Fame Racing, a team owner by NFL’s Troy Aikman and Roger Staubach. When not racing, Raines enjoys hunting, golfing, movies, spending time with his family and of course, Black Cat® Fireworks!
