“By the end of last season, we were averaging 400-500 people every Friday night. We are the best free Friday night party in the Valley”.
Madera, CA (PRWEB) May 03, 2012
A popular wine tasting room and event venue has announced their schedule of free summer concerts, and it starts off with a bang this week.
Appellation: California, known also by fans as ApCal, focuses on showcasing the wines of the central valley. The large property has also become a prime spot for events such as weddings, the Pomegranate Festival and concerts throughout the summer.
The season kicks off Friday, May 4 in a big way. Popular band Deja Blues will once again take the stage, one of the largest draws of the first season of Friday Night Live concerts last year.
“By the end of last season, we were averaging 400-500 people every Friday night," said Darren Schmall proprietor of ApCal.
“We are the best free Friday night party in the Valley."
At the May 4 opening, four Fresno State seniors will also be vying to break the Guinness Book World Record for the “Most Bottles of Wine Simultaneously Uncorked”. Currently, the record of 308 bottles is held by a Las Vegas casino. The students are trying to raise awareness about the quality of wines and the importance of the wine industry in the Central San Joaquin Valley.
The event is free to the public and anyone can attend (21 yrs & older). A special $10 package includes a bottle of Fresno State wine for “uncorking”, a corkscrew, a free wine tasting certificate from ApCal and the free concert. When the countdown starts, participants have 30 seconds to uncork all the wine in order to qualify for breaking the record.
The free concerts continue every Friday with other bands such as Trey Tosh, MoFo Party Band, Let’s Go Bowling, Executive Rockers and more. To see the full line up of Friday Night Life concerts and other events, visit http://www.ApCalWine.com.
