Marriott International is honoring two executives from The Woodlands Waterway Marriott Hotel and Convention Center near Houston with national recognition awards for their outstanding achievements in event management and market strategy.

In addition, the entire hotel event planning staff is receiving accolades from the parent company headquarters for their successful management of the many complex and highly visible events that occurred in 2011 at the luxury hotel and convention center, which is located in The Woodlands, Texas, about 30 miles north of downtown Houston.

Mark McCaskey, director of event management at the hotel, was recognized nationally as “Event Leader of the Year” in the Americas Region for all Marriott and J.W. Marriott hotels.

Stephanie Sheeran, director of market strategy, was honored nationally as “Revenue Leader of the Year” for the Americas Region.

The hotel’s entire event management team was recognized for the second time in the past four years as “Event Management Team of the Year” in 2011.
