PrepU’s mobile applications deliver the right content for students at the right time, every time, no matter where they are, without wasting energy on content students already know.

PrepU, the online adaptive assessment platform built by educators, today announced two new adaptive learning iOS mobile applications for PrepU AP US History and PrepU AP Psychology. PrepU’s new mobile applications better prepare students for advanced placement (AP) exams through adaptive practice quizzing, catered to each student’s unique needs, and by enabling them to study on mobile devices inside and outside of traditional quizzing environments.

In April 2012, PrepU launched a web-based adaptive learning application for Advanced Placement (AP) US History, Psychology, and Chemistry courses. With today’s announcement, students can now access their PrepU courses on the web or through the new mobile applications with the same login information for ultimate convenience. PrepU’s mobile apps provide free trials for a portion of the content; unlimited mobile access to PrepU’s extensive question library, quizzing and technical support, is just $9.99 through this month’s AP exams. The release of the PrepU AP History and PrepU AP Psychology iOS apps is part of a larger mobile initiative to encourage to students to learn at their own pace wherever they may be.

“Each student’s mobile device is an opportunity to learn on their own time -- whether that be on the bus ride to school, in between classes or at home. Whenever a student has the time or desire to learn, we want PrepU to accommodate that need,” said Troy Williams, a vice president at Macmillan and general manager of Macmillan New Ventures, the division that includes PrepU. “PrepU’s mobile applications are just as full-featured and effective as our web-based adaptive learning applications. They deliver the right content for students at the right time, every time, no matter where they are, without wasting energy on content students already know.”

With over 50 million questions answered on the PrepU platform to date, each question in the PrepU engine has been precisely calibrated by the responses of countless previous student quiz-takers. All products come preloaded with thousands of questions, boasting better subject matter coverage and quizzing scenarios than most other AP prep tools.

Student’s enjoy significant learning gains when they use PrepU, up to 62% according to a UCLA study. The company expects even better subject matter proficiency by expanding access to PrepU’s adaptive quizzing to mobile devices.

“The data on the ‘How am I doing’ page helped me see where I have to study more. It told me where I'm having trouble and where I'm doing well so I could focus more on the chapters that I wasn't understanding,” said Alexandra Conroy-Matos, student. “I used it to help see where I stand in the class and how well I and my classmates are doing in the class.”

The new applications are compatible with the iPhone (3GS or newer), iPod Touch (3rd generation or newer) and the iPad. All devices must be running iOS 4.0 or later for optimal testing performance. Mobile applications for Android devices are coming soon.

Key Application Features:

●    Personalized learning with challenging quizzes at exactly the right level, every time.
●    Constant feedback with the dashboard.
●    Extensive amounts of practice material with high-quality questions written by AP experts.
