The Credit Union is “The Official Credit Union of Cinco de Mayo” for the Cinco de Mayo Dallas 2012 Festival in Oak Cliff.

We love Oak Cliff and look forward to the Cinco de Mayo Festival each year.

Neighborhood Credit Union, the oldest credit union in Dallas, is pleased to be a presenting sponsor for the Cinco de Mayo Dallas 2012 Festival on May 5th which is presented by the Oak Cliff Coalition for the Arts (OCCA). As a part of the sponsorship, the credit union is the “Official Credit Union of Cinco de Mayo.” The Cinco de Mayo celebration is a long time tradition in Oak Cliff which started 22 years ago.

Neighborhood Credit Union will participate in the Big Parade, a lively and colorful parade which winds through the heart of Oak Cliff on Jefferson Boulevard. Thousands of spectators come from all over North Texas to view the festivities. The parade begins at 11:00 a.m. with Mayor Mike Rawlings as the Grand Marshal.

“We are honored and pleased to be the Official Credit Union of Cinco de Mayo for this year's festival", said Chet Kimmell, president and CEO of Neighborhood Credit Union. “We love Oak Cliff and look forward to the Cinco de Mayo Festival each year. It’s a fun way to support the community and the wonderful work that the OCCA does for arts and education.” The credit union has been in Oak Cliff for over 30 years and community involvement is an important part of their mission to build relationships in the neighborhoods that they serve.

In addition to the Big Parade, Neighborhood Credit Union is sponsoring booth #7 at the Festival from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Representatives from the Oak Cliff Branch will be on hand to greet spectators, offer financial education and games along with a drawing for a Fiesta Mart gift card.
