Dallas-based architecture firm BOKA Powell is earning accolades for its role as Architect of Record for the $346 million Omni Dallas Hotel, one of the nation’s largest hospitality projects to open last year with 1,001 rooms.
The hotel features 67 suites, 110,000 square feet of ballroom and meeting space, three specialty restaurants and is expected to achieve LEED Gold Certification, pending final commissioning by the U.S. Green Building Council.
Specific design and construction awards include:
- Omni Dallas won the “Readers Choice” Award for favorite design by Lodging Hospitality magazine, which will be featuring the hotel in next month’s issue.
- The Omni Dallas project team won three Texo 2012 Distinguished Awards for exceptional building and design, including top prizes in the design/build and electrical categories, and the Vision Award for utilizing the most sub consultants on a project that were Texo members.
- The North Texas Chapter of the American Subcontractors Association (ASA) named Omni Dallas as 2011’s Outstanding Project over $100 million and recognized it in the Outstanding Project Team category.
