Privacy Identity Innovation conference in Seattle to Include Mobile Privacy Workshop for Apps Developers

Taking place May 14, 2012 in downtown Seattle, the mobile apps privacy workshop will help developers understand how to bake privacy into the design process and how to create effective privacy policies.

The producers of the Privacy Identity Innovation conference will be hosting a pii Labs workshop for mobile apps developers from 1:00pm to 6:00pm on May 14, 2012 at the Edgewater Hotel in Seattle, WA.

The workshop, Mobile Apps: Designing for Privacy and Trust, will be held in conjunction with the third annual Privacy Identity Innovation conference, known as pii2012. Taking place May 14-16, 2012 in downtown Seattle, pii2012 will bring together over 250 leading executives, entrepreneurs, investors, marketing professionals and policy experts.

The conference theme is Building Trust in the Digital Age and app developers are invited to take part in the May 14th workshop to learn how to improve privacy on mobile platforms. The pii Labs workshop is sponsored by ACT, which represents more than 3,000 small and mid-size app developers and information technology firms.

Speakers at the pii Labs workshop include privacy experts from ACT, TRUSTe, Privacychoice, Microsoft, ESRB, the Electronic Frontier Foundation, Gagnier Margossian LLP, Innovators Network, Create with Context and Privacy Patterns, as well as the founders of startups like Geoloqi, Banjo, Disconnect, Sax.net and Personal.

The program will highlight the importance of considering your users’ personal information at every stage of the design process in order to avoid privacy pitfalls.
