Employers in hospitality, retail and other industries have been hit hard by the economy, rising operational costs and increased competition - creating obstacles to growing profit margins.

Taco Bell & KFC franchisee Rodney Walker says he's found increased cash flow since implementing JobApp's talent management solution at his 42 Michigan stores.

Using JobApp, Walker has watched his flow of tax credits dramatically increase each year.

In 2010, his credits were $46,397. In 2011, Walker realized credits of $164,742 – an astounding jump of 255%. Through February 2012, tax credits are at $69,130, despite the current federal hiatus in the WOTC (Work Opportunity Tax Credit) program. Even though the program is in hiatus, smart operators continue to execute the WOTC program, given that all historical precedents point to a full retroactive reinstatement of the program. Walker figures he's on track to another 250%+ increase over 2011.

Erickson Oil/Freedom Valu Centers, Wisconsin, found implementing the JobApp solution grew their tax credits to 150% of previous levels before JobApp.

JobApp CEO Blake Helppie says that JobApp enables employers to increase cash flow by easily taking advantage of certain state and federal tax credits.

"Applicants are prescreened for tax credits during the application process, enabling JobApp clients to execute the WOTC program in a fashion consistent with the intent of the program," explains Helppie. "JobApp has been a market leader and innovator in the process of automating and electronically managing the required government forms, and we've increased our clients' tax credits substantially - up to 50% over pre-existing levels. The fact of the matter is that 98% of all WOTC participating employers in America today execute the program such that tax credits are simply a happy accident resulting from a hiring decision that would have been made anyway. JobApp changes this fundamentally, allowing employers to proactively target hires that will generate credits."

Tax credits can range from an average of $2,400 for most groups of adult workers up to $9,600 for veterans.

The advantage to automating tax credits as part of an overall talent management solution? Hiring managers don't miss available tax credits and they don't miss the government's important deadlines.
