“This sweepstakes offers a fun, interactive way for locals and tourists to support Bend’s craft beer industry and to promote the new Fermentation Celebration in the Old Mill District.”
Bend, OR (PRWEB) May 08, 2012
It’s a beer lover’s wildest dream – a year’s supply of delicious craft beer along the nationally acclaimed Bend Ale Trail.
There’s no need to pinch yourself, because it’s no dream. The Beer for a Year sweepstakes kicks off next month, and one lucky winner will take home a collection of gift certificates totaling approximately $2,400 for breweries along the Bend Ale Trail.
Beer fans will be able to purchase raffle tickets for $10 each starting May 8. Each ticket serves as one entry into a sweepstakes drawing, and the grand prize winner will be drawn at the inaugural Fermentation Celebration event July 12 at the Old Mill District. The total retail value of the gift certificates is the approximate equivalent of one free beer, plus tip, every day of the year. Certificates will be redeemable only by the winner, and will be valid for 12 months beginning in July 2012.
Visit Bend CEO Doug La Placa said all proceeds from the “Beer for a Year Sweepstakes” will go to the Central Oregon Brewers Guild. “Bend’s extraordinary craft beer industry has quickly become a critical component of the regional tourism industry” he noted. “This sweepstakes offers a fun, interactive way for locals and tourists to support Bend’s craft beer industry and to promote the new Fermentation Celebration in the Old Mill District.”
Tickets will be sold online at http://www.bendaletrail.com, at the Bend Visitor Center, and at various locations throughout Central Oregon. A representative from the Central Oregon Brewers Guild will draw the winner at the Fermentation Celebration. The winner is not required to be present to win.
Garrett Wales, a partner with 10 Barrel Brewing and a member of the Central Oregon Brewers Guild, said representatives of Bend’s craft beer industry are excited about the promotion. “There’s been so much national attention on Bend’s beer scene recently, and this is a great opportunity for us to showcase the breweries along the Bend Ale Trail,” he noted. “We look forward to this being a terrific annual fundraiser for the Central Oregon Brewers Guild for years to come.”
