Many people each year are wrongly accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, often without any material evidence of their actual blood alcohol content at the time of arrest.
Orlando, Florida (PRWEB) May 09, 2012
Criminal defense attorneys David S. Katz and James D. Phillips, who have long specialized in defending people in the greater Orlando area from DUI charges, will be the lead speakers at a Continuing Legal Education (CLE) seminar this June 21st.
The seminar is aimed at fellow defense attorneys who wish to branch out into the field of DUI law and help clients avoid overly harsh penalties or unjustified DUI convictions. Organized by the educational group LawReviewCLE, the seminar is an accredited course approved by the Florida Bar Association. It counts as four hours of credit towards Florida CLE coursework.
“Many people each year are wrongly accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, often without any material evidence of their actual blood alcohol content at the time of arrest,” Katz said of his dedicated work on the topic of DUI defense. “Even more are given excessive sentences that threaten their ability to work, go to school, or support their family. Our goal is to give lawyers the tools they need to provide a fair, informed defense for those accused of DUI.”
The two attorneys are founding partners at Katz and Phillips, PA, a criminal defense firm that has served DUI defendants across Central Florida and overturned literally hundreds of erroneous breathalyzer results.
Katz and Phillips will also be speaking at a June 27th DUI defense seminar in Las Vegas, via live webcast, on the topic of the science and flaws behind breath testing machines. All attendees will be given a complete book on the subject co-authored by the two attorneys.
