Steven Hollister, the vice president of Sunrise Mortgage & Investment Company, recently joined the Jack’s Helping Hand Board of Directors. He joins current board members Bridget Ready, Paul Ready, Mary Illingworth, Leslie Crawford, Eddy Quijano, Beverly Maguire and Fran Tognazzini.
Hollister said he feels his skills can contribute to the long-term success of Jack’s Helping Hand. He is a founding director and past president of the Arroyo Grande Eagle Athletic Foundation and is also a director of the Calavo Growers Inc, an avocado and food products producer and distributor in Santa Paula, Calif., where he serves on the compensation and audit committees.
"We’re so excited to have Steven join the board of directors,” said Illingworth, who is also the administrative director of Jack’s Helping Hand. “His experience and knowledge will add yet another valuable asset to our already incredible board of directors.”
A longtime resident of the Central Coast, Hollister lives in Arroyo Grande with Lori, his wife of 25 years. He earned a bachelor’s degree in agricultural business management from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo in 1979 and has spent 19 years working in agricultural credit throughout the state of California.
Jack’s Helping Hand, Inc., a non-profit charitable organization, was created in honor of Paul and Bridget Ready’s youngest son Jack, who passed away in 2004 at the age of 3 from a rare form of brain cancer. Now in its sixth year of service, Jack’s Helping Hand assists children with illnesses and disabilities, providing special treatments, services, equipment and transportation not provided by other sources, or that exceed family financial capabilities.
