Photographer Ellen Fisch, who lectures frequently about black and white and sepia photography, will teach a class in her area of expertise, architectural photography at Berger Bros. camera store’s Syosset, Long Island location. A seasoned professional, Fisch is sought out by many groups to share her photography tips and techniques with other professionals as well as with hobbyists.
Demonstrating her orientation towards the art of photography is one of Fisch’s favorite pastimes. “By sharing with others my approach to architectural photography as well as my techniques of using black and white and sepia photography as media of expression, I can learn a great deal about my craft,” says Photographer Ellen Fisch. The opportunity to connect with others who share her love of picture taking appeals greatly to Fisch.
The class will cover such basics as selecting a subject to photograph, composing the shot, and setting up the shot with lighting and distance. Topics will also address computer processing, Photoshop, Wacom Tablets vs. mouse, jpeg vs. raw and printing. Fisch approaches teaching photography in a manner that ensures that all who attend her courses can leave informed regardless of their level of skill. “The importance of attending any workshop or lecture,” says Fisch, “is to be engaged with the subject. If you are going to come out to hear about a topic, it should be one you are passionate about. Photography is universally captivating,” Fisch enthuses regarding her own life’s work.
Berger Bros. was founded in 1951. It remains dedicated to providing the same standard of product and service that it did when its doors first opened. Furthermore, Berger Bros. has embraced new technology as it evolved to give its customers the most up to date photography equipment available in the market. To that end, Berger Bros hosts classes to instruct and inspire its clientele. Photographer Ellen Fisch will be proud to be part of the Berger Bros. photography community on June 12, 2012.
