Replacing Bill Franke who is semi-retiring and moving into a special counsel role for Gary Holmes and the family foundation, Michelle Culligan, a Minnesota real estate legal veteran, has assumed the general counsel role for CSM Corporation. Michelle represents the company in various commercial real estate, financing, general commercial and corporate matters, as well as mitigation issues for CSM’s diverse portfolio of commercial, residential and hotel properties.
Michelle brings to CSM over 23 years of legal experience including client negotiating, various commercial and real estate financial transactions, restructuring struggling real estate loans, development, leasing and sales. “Michelle has the experience we need in a wide range of real estate deals and brings a wealth of expertise to some of the more complex issues and negotiations that face our industry, allowing CSM greater flexibility in the projects that we can bring to the table,” comments CSM president and CEO, Gary Holmes.
Prior to CSM, Michelle was a principal and general counsel at Manchester Companies in Minneapolis, MN, and has also provided corporate real estate advisory services to tenants as a commercial real estate broker at AREA, LLC. Michelle practiced for over 13 years at Briggs and Morgan, P.A. where she was a partner in the Financial Services/Real Estate department, and 5 years as head of the Financial Services practice at the law firm of Dunkley and Bennett, PA.
