Teri Cardenas, CHRISTUS’ Senior System Director, Strategic Marketing and Communications, accepted the award on behalf of the Dallas-based Catholic health system.
As a large, geographically dispersed health system, CHRISTUS overcame many challenges to achieve its goals of meeting healthcare reform and Meaningful Use requirements, improving patient satisfaction and connectivity, acquiring patients despite fierce competition, and building profitable volume through targeted marketing campaigns and patient portal initiatives.
The health system has made great strides in consolidating its digital health strategy, implementing a standard web platform for its 22 owned hospitals with consistent branding and the ability to gather demographic information for use in marketing campaigns. CHRISTUS also deployed a mobile site to engage the growing number of patients who access the web via smart devices, and continues to engage marketing, IT and operations in a collaborative strategy to deliver online and mobile solutions to improve the patient experience. In 2011, CHRISTUS saw a 385% return on marketing investment (ROMI), a response rate of 15.5%, and a $2.5 Million boost to revenues.
