A web competition for an exciting summer adventure around Europe!
(PRWEB UK) 10 May 2012
In 2012 the Erasmus Program celebrates its 25th year of promoting European multicultural exchange and understanding. Through its mission of promoting cultural integration, the Erasmus Program has already allowed over 2.5 million European students to study in a university of another European country. Reflecting the important role of travel and discovery in the Erasmus Program, the project has been specially conceived to be a summer adventure representing all the aspects of the Erasmus experience.
Emanuele Scamardella, President of ESN Italia
« ESN Italia is pleased to be able to celebrate 25 years of the Erasmus Program with a 25-day voyage of European discovery. The Erasmus Dreamtrip shares our important objectives of encouraging student mobility and volunteering activities that are part of the Social Erasmus project. Through the years, the Erasmus Program has worked to lay the groundwork for future european citizenship by encouraging understanding and respect towards cultural diversity.»
The two winners of the competition will travel for 25 days around Europe aboard a QUBO Fiat car equiped with YATOO concept (camping gear turning cars into homes) and will be accompanied along the way by the Erasmus Student Network that will organize special welcoming events in the visited destinations. Participants must create a trip on Travellution and choose between two trip itineraries: either towards the north of Europe (Mythical North) or towards the south (Warm South). They must then invite 2 friends to join them and fulfill other requirements as described on the website http://www.erasmusdreamtrip.com. The winners of the trips will be the participants with the highest number of followers at the end of the competition. Two Nokia Lumia 800 smartphones will be provided by Nokia to the winners who will share their adventures with the public as they unfold through articles, tweets, photos and videos uploaded to dedicated blogs on Travellution.
Giacomo Bastianelli, CEO of Travellution
« We created this project together to celebrate the Erasmus Program, an experience that played an important role in the ideas we put in Travellution as myself and two other co-founders are ex-Erasmus students. Travel has the potential to bring together and facilitate integration and respect for different cultures. Travellution and the Erasmus Program are two faces of the same mission that aims at improving our society and planet. »
The winners will be announced on June 10th and the two cars will leave Turin on June 21st before heading towards countries such as Germany, Poland, France, Spain, Portugal and The Netherlands. To promote eco-travel, the two teams will also spend one day volunteering with a local NGO at one of the destinations and an “Eco Prize” will be given to the team with the best eco-drive score measured by Fiat’s onboard Eco-Drive system. A “Blogger Prize” will be given to the team with the most visited blog at the end of the trip.
