Unfortunately people arrested under suspicion of drunk driving face tremendous bias going into the courtroom, and there are a number of factors working against them. We want them represented fairly.
Las Vegas, Nevada (PRWEB) May 11, 2012
DUI specialists David S. Katz and James D. Phillips, of Katz and Phillips PA, will be giving tips and leading a seminar on DUI defense for fellow attorneys this June 27th in Las Vegas. DUI cases, which have been on the rise, are a vital area of knowledge for criminal defense lawyers, and Katz and Phillips will help them understand the best defense strategies.
The seminar is a Continuing Legal Education (CLE) event offered by LawReviewCLE, one of the leading resources for attorneys who want to grow their areas of specialization. The focus of the seminar will be the unique challenges that a DUI case entails, including how to deal with potentially faulty breath analysis evidence. Katz and Phillips have long focused on DUI defense cases and are noted authors on the subject, and now wish to share their expertise so that more DUI defendants have access to a solid defense.
“Our goal is to give lawyers the tools they need to provide a fair, informed defense for those accused of DUI,” Katz says of the planned seminar. “Unfortunately people arrested under suspicion of drunk driving face tremendous bias going into the courtroom, and there are a number of factors working against them. We want them represented fairly.”
Katz and Phillips will be speaking on the topic of the science and flaws behind breath analyzers, and when and how breath analysis evidence can be thrown out of a case. This event will also include a live webcast, "Breath Testing - the Science and Secrets". All attendees will be given a complete book on the subject co-authored by the two attorneys.
About Katz and Phillips:
