BioDot has begun a collaboration with GE Healthcare Life Sciences to better support customers in the diagnostic manufacturing industry. The combination of diagnostic detection and manufacturing technologies from BioDot and GE Healthcare will enable both companies to provide an integrated solution for customers involved in the development of immunoassay and molecular diagnostic kits.
The collaboration will benefit diagnostic assay developers by bringing together the complementary expertise and technologies of two key companies in the field. BioDot is a leading supplier of low volume dispensing, cutting, lamination, and strip assemblies for kit manufacture. GE Healthcare Life Sciences is an established and proven supplier of components for lateral flow, molecular biology reagents and stabilisation technology for use in diagnostic kits.
In addition, the companies are co-sponsoring a series of educational workshops focusing on lateral flow immunodiagnostics, microarrays and the molecular diagnostic marketplace. The workshops will guide attendees through classical development approaches to manufacturing processes in a series of lectures that will be supplemented with ‘hands-on’ laboratory sessions. Announced program dates are 24-26 April in Irvine, CA, USA; 14-16 May in North Yorkshire, UK; and 17-19 July in Worcester, UK.
