In'Genius Youth Announces 2.5 million Naira Grand Prize in a Competition Open to All Undergraduate Students with Nigerian Nationality

On the first day of May 2012, In’Genius Youth Competition’s official website (http://www.ingeniusyouth.com) began accepting applications from innovative Nigerian youngsters around the world. In’Genius Youth Competition is “the medium through which young idea generators in developing nations can find expression and also win great prizes.”

The most inventive idea will receive a monetary award of 2,500,000 Naira. The first runner-up will be awarded 1,500,000 Naira, while the second runner-up will receive 750,000 Naira. The top ten finalists will be granted a unique dinner opportunity with government functionaries and captains of industry, with the top twenty published in the maiden edition of In’Genius Magazine.

This competition seeks to provide support in various forms to ideas that can positively impact the economy of Nigeria and improve her standards of living. The management team of In’Genius Youth has carved a unique vision for this competition, which is “to bridge the technological gap between developed and developing nations.” The expectations are high, and all eligible students are encouraged to present their ideas for this unique opportunity.

Until June 20, 2012, the competition’s first round will be open to ideas from various fields of study. After that first round, there will be two more rounds through which judges and the internet public will choose the smartest ideas by casting votes. Applicants can submit ideas in any of six solution areas:

1.    Alternative power supply;
2.    Alternative transportation (viable in Nigeria);
3.    Affordable communication systems (hardware or software);
4.    Inexpensive mechanization systems for agriculture;
5.    Technological systems for effective tax management in Nigeria (hardware and software); and
6.    Relevant designs for tourist attractions (monuments and virtual systems) in Nigeria.
