"Save the Robots”, New Sci-Fi Rock Comedy Musical, Premieres at Players Theatre

“Save the Robots," a new science-fiction rock comedy musical, makes its world premiere featuring a cast of 7 who take the audience on a trip that pays homage to science-fiction “B” movies.

Cast members have dubbed themselves The Android Players and said “Save the Robots” is like a cross between “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” and “Star Trek.”

Save the Robots, a new science-fiction rock comedy musical, makes its world premiere. Starring NY1's recent "New Yorker of the Week" Paul Zablidowsky (aka Paulie Z), of the rock group ZO2 and the hit cable TV comedy series "Z Rock," and Scott Lovelady, lead singer of the 80’s tribute band Rubix Kube, "Save the Robots" features a cast of seven who take the audience on a trip that pays homage to the science-fiction “B” movies and TV shows of the 1950’s and 60’s - with tongue planted firmly in cheek. Cast members have dubbed themselves The Android Players and said “Save the Robots” is like a cross between “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” and “Star Trek.”

"Save the Robots" was written by Ed Katz (Westport, CT), Rob Susman, George Tsalikis and Clark Render (New York), directed by George Tsalikis and features the music of 80's rock band Hagatha, arranged and supervised by Rob Susman and is produced by the team of Ed Katz and Rob Susman for Katnip Marketing and Sus4Music. The band consists of Susman on keyboards, Billy Seidman on guitar and Dave Anthony on drums. Katie Branden is the stage manager, Erica Ether did the artwork, video and logo design and Marc Poirier is the photographer.

THE STORY:
Scott Lovelady plays Dr. Morgana, a scientist who has created several robots from plants and fights to keep them hidden from the Science Inquisition Police. Paulie Z plays Narcissus, Morgana’s apprentice who, out of jealousy, becomes his enemy. Other cast members are Erica Ether (Mind Bank, a robot with telepathic powers), Georgia Haege (Gidget, a high-strung robot), Linnea Larsdotter (Orchid, a robot exploring her sexuality), Jason Sadie (Igor, a mute robot) and Christina Saragaglia (a Science Inquisition Police Lieutenant).
