If Iain Carmichael is pinged an email requesting some fleet information, it should be no surprise if an ‘out of office’ response is received.

Audi’s head of fleet sales for the past six years has parted company with Audi to pursue opportunities elsewhere.

A note issued by Martin Sander, director of Audi, said the parting of the ways was by mutual consent.

Iain Carmichael has presided over a phenomenal growth rate in fleet sales at Audi as the brand found an increasing amount of cachet among both business and private drivers. Last year Audi sold a total of 113,703 cars in the UK.

“I would like to thank Iain for his contribution during the 13 years’ service with the business, and wish him well for his next opportunity,” said Martin Sander.

Audi said that a replacement for Iain Carmichael as head of fleet sales was being recruited. During the meantime, fleet questions, company car issues and business car leasing matters would be fielded by both Warren Richards and Roger Grainger from the Audi fleet sales team.

In recent business car news, Audi has launched a five-door Audi A1 Sportback, an ultra-hot version of the Audi TT RS, and an updated version of the Audi Q5 UV. Meanwhile the new Audi A6 allroad will go on sale during the summer.
