New York, NY (PRWEB) May 10, 2012
Haute Time congratulates Audemars Piguet for a triumphant finish to the first annual Haute Timepiece Madness.
The curators of Haute Time incepted Haute Timepiece Madness to discover the people’s choice out of the finest pieces shown at this year’s Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie (SIHH) and Basel World 2012. The competition put 32 fascinating timepieces to the test to discover the hautest piece, and the Audemars Piguet Openworked Extra-Thin Royal Oak Limited Edition took the number one spot.
The Openworked Extra-Thin Royal Oak Limited Edition won the fifth and final round of the competition with a 67.4% to 32.6% victory over the Greubel Forsey GMT. Audemars Piguet acquired over 35,000 votes in the last day of voting alone, and withstood every round of competition with ample lead.
The last eight timepieces in the competition were A. Lange & Söhne Datograph AUF/AB; Audemars Piguet Openworked Extra-Thin Royal Oak Limited Edition; Blancpain 6653Q, Date, Retrograde Seconds; Breguet 7727 10HZ; Greubel Forsey GMT; IWC Sidérale Scafusia; Maîtres du Temps Chapter Three Reveal; and Piaget Altiplano Skeleton Automatic Watch.
“It was amazing to see the support of the watch brands. To see brands such as Harry Winston, Piaget, Audemars Piguet and more promote our site for voters was a true humbling experience,” Haute Living Co-Publisher and Haute Time curator Seth Semilof said. “I was also very impressed at how social media plays such an important role in most of the top luxury brands in the world.”
“Haute Time Madness got a huge response from celebrity friends such as Swizz Beatz,” Haute Living Co-Publisher Kamal Hotchandani added. “It was great to see him encouraging his Twitter network to vote—a network of over one million followers.”
Haute Timepiece Madness will be held yearly after Basel World and SIHH, in correlation with the popular NCAA Basketball March Madness competition.
With that, the ever-discerning fine timepiece enthusiasts have spoken: the Audemars Piguet Openworked Extra-Thin Royal Oak Limited Edition is the hautest timepiece of them all.
