Trenton Dual-Processor SBC Expands Intelligent Systems Performance

Share Article

Trenton’s BXT7059 SBC features the new Intel® Xeon® processor E5-2400 family to maximize system data computational speed and network communications functionality.

The Trenton BXT7059 incorporates the new Intel® Xeon® processor E5-2400 family, formerly codenamed “Sandy Bridge-EN,” and the Intel® C604 chipset into a dual-processor, PICMG® 1.3 single board computer (SBC) design. This long-life SBC enables government, telecom, industrial automation and military & aerospace system designs that deliver high-performance computing flexibility with a greater level of computational speed and network functionality. Performance and flexibility gains are due to the customer’s BXT7059 option choices that include processors with 8, 6 or 4 execution cores per processor. PCI Express® links directly out of the board’s processors are capable of supporting PCI Express 3.0, 2.0 and 1.1 system I/O card interfaces. Trenton’s BXT7059 supports key enhancements such as Intel® Turbo Boost technology, Intel® Advanced Management Technology (Intel® AMT) and Intel® Advanced Vector Extensions (Intel® AVX).

“The BXT7059 provides important new capabilities for our SBC and system customers”, said Michael Bowling, President of Trenton Systems. “The BXT7059 answers a major need for additional performance and faster I/O card interfaces in our various intelligent system designs with the added bonus of providing the longevity needed to support the long deployment cycles required by our customers.”

“The new Intel® Xeon® processor E5-2400 family enables dual-processor computing performance in intelligent systems designed for mission-critical and secure network communication systems typically deployed in telemetry, surveillance and communications, telecom and industrial automation systems,” said Bill Rollender, marketing manager, Intel Communications Infrastructure Division. “With Intel® AMT and Intel® AVX technology systems builders can deliver enhanced system manageability and communications security required by their customers.”

Here is an abbreviated features list for the Trenton BXT7059 single board computer:
