(We want readers to experience) encouragement and joy as they see themselves as part of a community of hope with potential for spiritual growth in retirement years in spite of aging’s unwelcome experiences.
WICHITA, Kan. (PRWEB) May 14, 2012
After retiring, Leroy and Eva M. Brightup were in need of guidance. They searched bookstores and online resources for devotional readings addressing their spiritual, emotional and developmental needs as people facing several years of retirement. When their search failed to return what they were looking for, they set out to assemble a book of their own, eventually creating “Golden Apples for Golden-Agers: Devotionals Written by and for Seniors” (published by iUniverse), which they now present in a revised and updated version for 2012.
With “Golden Apples for Golden-Agers” Leroy and Eva hope to show readers how they can use resources of Christianity to make the later years of their lives good, rewarding and full of joy and hope. They contend that one is never too old to be coached by God toward a more spiritually fulfilling life.
“(We want readers to experience) encouragement and joy as they see themselves as part of a community of hope with potential for spiritual growth in retirement years in spite of aging’s unwelcome experiences,” says Leroy.
“Golden Apples for Golden-Agers” is an impactful book. With, as Leroy and Eva note, a growing number of retirees and people living longer lives, guidance to help them navigate their new lives is increasingly important. They hope to provide that guidance with their book, showing seniors how to find the rich, spiritual fulfillment they need.
“Golden Apples for Golden-Agers” has been selected for inclusion in the iUniverse Star program, which recognizes excellence in writing and commercial success.
