Liberatore Travels The District In White Pickup Truck

When Congressional candidate Phil Liberatore fell in love with Dana Holland he got more than just a beautiful young bride, he also married into a family that had spent decades working the land. Dana, the daughter of a cotton farmer from Brownfield, TX, spent her early years "doing everything" on the family farm-which included routine tasks like driving a tractor and weeding the cotton. Together with her two brothers and sister, they were a constant presence on their family farm. In 2004 when her father Earl, a World War II veteran, passed away, he left his beloved white Chevy Silverado pickup truck to his daughter and son-in-law, complete with his personalized license plates: EHolland. This year, Phil & Dana have decided to draft the truck into service as the campaign's unofficial vehicle, meeting their friends and neighbors in the community that spans hundreds of miles from the Victorville area to Bishop, encompassing three counties.

"I can't think of a better way to honor my father than by traveling across the 8th district in his beloved pickup," said Dana. "The values that I learned from him are the values I learned on the farm: hard work, integrity, honesty and a square deal. Those are the values that Phil is committed to and which we will together take to Washington."

Earl Holland's Chevy is expected to arrive in small towns all across the district throughout the campaign.

"I feel so blessed to have the opportunity to possibly represent the hard-working taxpayers in the 8th district," said Phil Liberatore. "There's an old saying that you can take the girl off of the farm but you can't take the farm out of the girl, and that describes Dana and the values that we share and the values that I bring to this race. Every mile I drive in Earl's pickup truck will be a reminder to me to live out his values and the values of those I seek to represent, in Washington DC, a town which has forgotten the values of low taxation and hard work. They're the values that all small-town Californians share."
