"The new Dye-PL mimics the healing characteristics of laser treatment by combining high energy within a short exposure time, while removing the associated risks and complexities of the regular pulsed light systems which release light in a wide spectrum."

Alma Lasers, the world's leading developer of medical aesthetic technologies, unveiled a new technology called Dye-PL for the removal of vascular lesions and skin spots.

Dye-PL, the first narrow-band pulsed light technology, is being hailed by dermatologists across the globe as the world's most advanced type of pulsed light for its ability to deliver results similar to the high-cost pulsed-dye laser, but with the safety, reliability and versatility of pulsed light.

The new Dye-PL is an advanced pulsed light technology that uses a series of three filters, concentrating the light into a narrow and specific spectrum. The unique technology allows aesthetic practitioners to treat patients for a wide range of skin conditions that react positively to this particular spectrum and pulse duration, without exposing the skin to other spectrums that may cause adverse effects.

"The pulsed-dye laser was one of the first lasers introduced for use in aesthetic medicine, and this technology is still considered the laser of choice for skin conditions such as port-wine stains, explains Dr. Ziv Karni, CEO of Alma Lasers. Unfortunately, the pulsed-dye laser is extremely cost-prohibitive and high-maintenance, resulting in a higher cost of treatment for patients. The new Dye-PL mimics the healing characteristics of laser treatment by combining high energy within a short exposure time, while removing the associated risks and complexities of the regular pulsed light systems which release light in a wide spectrum."

The Dye-PL has been clinically proven as safe and effective, has virtually no pain or downtime, and can be performed anytime throughout the year. The Dye-PL is used exclusively with Alma Lasers Harmony XL and Harmony LITE systems.
