Newburyport, MA based bike tour company Easy Rider Tours is putting a technical twist on its National Bike Month celebrations. In addition to Bike Month themed posts and articles, the company is donating a dollar for every new Twitter follower, up to $250 to the Adventure Cycling Association.

Jim Goldberg, Easy Rider Tours founder, has long been a supporter of and is a past tour guide for the Adventure Cycling Association, whose mission is to inspire people of all ages to travel by bicycle. The Association helps cyclists explore the landscapes and history of America for fitness, fun, and self-discovery. Programs that the Association provides to the public include routes and maps, guided tours, and how-to resources.

“Cycling can be a very social sport, from bike tours to cycling clubs, many of us use our love of cycling to connect with others. Social media and cycling are a great pair; information can be shared and people are meeting through online channels more and more.” said Goldberg “To celebrate National Bike Month, we are growing our social network while also helping others to discover cycling through the Adventure Cycling Association.”

About his relationship with the Adventure Cycling Association, Goldberg said, “I’ve been a proud member of Adventure Cycling (formerly Bikecentennial) since leading a coast to coast TransAmerica tour in 1984, and can truly say the experience of crossing America by bike changed my life! It led to meeting my wife, who had just completed her own solo cross country tour, and to us founding Easy Rider Tours two years later to promote cycling with a cultural spin in Europe, Canada and New England."
