EquipNet is partnering with Unilever to auction off the manufacturing assets of a closed ice cream facility in Framingham, MA, freeing up a wide array of premium equipment for sale that can be used across the manufacturing sector. The live/webcast event begins at 10am ET on Thursday, May 31, 2012. To register and view the entire auction catalog, visit http://www.EquipNet.com/Unilever-PRWeb
EquipNet will auction the entire contents of the closed plant, including: freezers, tanks, pumps, valves, palletizing and packaging lines, water purification systems, unused MRO/parts, as well as warehouse, utility, and office equipment. The sale also includes an antique Sealtest neon sign. This is a rare opportunity to purchase premium pre-owned equipment manufactured by Cherry Burrell, Mueller, Northfield, Goldco, and other leading OEMs at a fraction of the cost of buying it new. Because the facility is closed, the equipment is available for immediate removal.
Until its recent closure, the Unilever plant produced and packaged the full variety of Breyer’s ice cream products. To see full descriptions and photos of the equipment in the auction catalog, visit the project page.
EquipNet’s Vice President of Food and Beverage Industry Sales, Perry Elliot, is impressed by the variety of items on the auction block. “Until recently, the Unilever facility was running a first-rate operation that included production from the time the milk was delivered to the factory, to when the truck picked up pallets of frozen half-gallons of ice cream,” says Elliot. “There’s a tasting lab, blending equipment, tanks to hold the milk, freezers, palletizing production lines, pumps, and more.”
Elliot is also excited about the opportunity this equipment presents for companies outside the food and beverage industry. “There are production and packaging machines, mechanical spares, and MRO/parts that could be used in other manufacturing facilities including: food, beverage, personal care, chemical, biotech, or even pharmaceutical companies,” he explains. “They are truly universal. A valve is a valve and this is well-made equipment just happens to have been used to produce and package ice cream.”
