Melissa Straub, Program Director of the Cyber Law Enforcement Agency, a division of will be speaking to The New Jersey Juvenile Officer Association (NJJOA) regarding current social media laws and issues relating to cyber crimes within schools and communities.

"An exciting part of the presentation will be the panel discussion with occupational representation by an attorney, school counselor, school administrator, law enforcement, juvenile justice officer, & social services officer," states Ms. Straub.

“There are huge concerns for schools and communities in dealing with cyberbullying, bullying, sexting, cyber crimes and social media policies,” states Ms. Straub. Presentations like these are going on around the country in an attempt to fill the gap in regards to education, training, laws, responsibilities, investigations & communication. All attendees of the conference will be receiving a Cyber Bullying 101 Tool Kit to arm them with resources and actionable plans to make a difference within their respective positions. The conference will focus on the local and national legalities of cyberbullying & sexting, court rulings, punishments & technology. NJ anti-cyberbullying law, school policies & training issues will be examined as well as the individual responsibilities of schools, law enforcement, parents, social services investigators, and juvenile officers.
