A leading U.S. tarp supplier Tarps Plus is offering tarps without tax for the Hurricane Preparedness Sales Tax Holiday.

Every year Tarps Plus rolls out their hurricane tarps for the potential hurricanes that strike almost every summer. This year the tarp giant has decided to get in on the Hurricane Preparedness Sales Tax Holiday. Many states like Virginia and Louisiana have official holidays that enable customers to not pay state sales tax on items that are related to hurricane preparedness.

Tarps Plus has loaded up its inventory for the this year’s hurricane season, which takes place, June 1st to November 30th. The date of the tax holiday is, May 25th to May 31st.

Tarps Plus will be offering tarps without tax as well as the tax amount as a discount to all the states with a Hurricane Preparedness Sales Tax Holiday. Tarps Plus CEO Michael Stein stated, “We are more than happy to offer the tarps with the additional discounts for customers in the hurricane states.”

The typical hurricane tarp sizes typically range from 16x20 to 30x30 feet. The tarps are made for temporary coverage on top of roofs. Many times a hurricane or tropical storm will tear a roof of a house off, exposing the home to further water damage.

There are some stipulations to the law. States like Virginia offer the tax exemption but certain items like generators must be priced less than $1000. A person can buy as many generators as they need but each generator must be priced under a thousand dollars in order to still receive the exemption. A purchase of $10,000 worth of items can add up to substantial savings.

Popular hurricane preparedness items are, tarps, water, plywood and batteries. If you are interested in the tax exemption, check your local government website to see if you qualify.
