WaLa!, a big data search and analytics platform provider, today announced that its CEO Rory Welch has been selected to speak at Enterprise Search Summit 2012, to be held May 15-16 at the Hilton New York in New York City. Welch’s presentation, “Calming the Chaos of Big Data,” is included in the session titled, “Minimizing the Problems of Big Data,” which is scheduled for Tuesday, May 15 at 11:15 a.m. WaLa! will also be previewing its soon-to-be-launched big data solutions at the conference in booth #23.

During his discussion, Welch will focus on a critical challenge facing enterprises today: the need to harness big data and turn it into useful information. As an expert in this area, Welch will offer his insight into emerging semantic search technologies that are enabling employees at every level of the organization to take control of big data with real-time capabilities that span multiple data types and multiple data sources.

“To truly make a competitive difference, big data search cannot be confined to the big data scientist. The most effective big data tools will be designed for use by customers, stakeholders and employees at every level – not just an elite group of specialists,” Welch said.

“According to a recently released study, less than one third of all companies turn their big data into usable information that can potentially help their business, while the rest of the data is just taking up space on storage servers,” he added. “This means that the companies that have already started putting big data management and analytics systems in place to utilize their data for business intelligence are the ones that will gain the competitive advantages in their industries moving forward.”

WaLa! is in position to help its customers achieve these goals with a new semantic-based big data platform that is set to launch this Fall. The platform is designed to make real-time business intelligence instantly accessible at every level of the organization, enabling big data resources to have a more far-reaching impact.

In developing its technology platform, WaLa! is drawing upon the search, storage and archiving expertise of its ArcMail subsidiary, which pioneered the enterprise information and email archiving appliance market in 2005. ArcMail serves business customers across North America – in markets such as government, education, insurance and banking – with cost-effective and innovative technology solutions that address critical regulatory compliance and data protection needs.
