“By partnering with Simtech for data migration and system integration, we can expand the overall usage of our HMIS software solutions,” said Scott Senior VP Sales, Social Solutions.

Social Solutions, Inc., the leading provider of performance management software for homelessness services, and Simtech Solutions, provider of web application development and technology consulting services, today announced a strategic partnership to make Social Solutions’ Efforts to Outcomes (ETO™) software more readily accessible to organizations looking to migrate from an existing HMIS, or organizations forced to use an HMIS software that does not meet their needs.

“By partnering with Simtech for data migration and system integration, we can expand the overall usage of our HMIS software solutions, which allows federal, state and local organizations to better coordinate care and services for the homeless,” said Scott Johnson, Senior VP Sales, Social Solutions. “Simtech has proven skills and tools that are extremely helpful in verifying that a migration or integration has been completed successfully. This will help bring ETO software to organizations who feel trapped by their current vendor, but are looking to avoid losing their data or being forced to enter it multiple times into different systems.”

Social Solutions is a recognized leader in the HMIS software field, and its ETO HMIS software allows government agencies and nonprofit housing organizations to simplify program management and data collection. With extensive experience in working with HMIS, Simtech is providing data migration and integration services that will allow its HMIS clients to easily embrace the value of ETO software.

Simtech’s work in the homeless arena includes leading the conversion of the statewide HMIS for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to ETO software, in addition to managing the statewide data warehouse for several years. Simtech Solutions was recently engaged on the national VA Registry project which involved integrating data from 70 Supportive Services for Veteran’s Families (SSVF) grantees into a single data repository. The company also hosts and maintains a statewide PATH data management platform for Eliot Community Human Services in Massachusetts. This application allows the organization to perform data collection and reporting for 56 locations operating out of 8 DMH regions and 20 Continuums of Care.

In addition to these efforts, the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) commissioned Simtech to author the HUD HMIS Comma Separated Variable (CSV) Exchange Format as well the HUD XML to CSV Parsing Utility. The two HUD endorsed data exchange formats are aligned to capture the myriad of data elements found within the HUD HMIS Data Standards and provide a means of standardization for the 40+ HMIS software vendors. This standardization is critical for data integration efforts and reduces the complexity of migrating from one HMIS vendor to another.

“Social Solutions is a leading provider of HMIS software for improving program management and data collection, which is critical to the success of any HMIS,” said Simtech Solutions President, Matt Simmonds. “We are excited by the opportunity of working with the Social Solutions to help further their goals of ensuring that organizations running ETO software, and the regions these organizations operate within, are meeting their reporting objectives in a manner that is both efficient and accurate.””

About Simtech Solutions
Simtech Solutions Inc. was founded in 1998 as a consulting firm geared towards being “technology sherpas” for clients. As the authors of the HUD Annual Performance Report (APR) Programming Specifications and the Homeless Prevention and Rapid Re-housing APR Programming Specifications, they are intimately familiar with the business logic that each HMIS vendor must adhere to. A testament to this acumen is the recent licensing of Simtech’s HMIS Report Generation Tool by HUD to assist vendors in validating the APR reporting logic while serving as a critical stopgap for grantees that were using a vendor that lacked this reporting capability. The company has led several complex system conversions and their homeless work has won national accolades. Simtech Solutions is a HUD Technical Assistance provider with areas of expertise in Homeless Management Information Systems (HMIS), the HUD Comma Separated Variable data exchange format, as well as the reporting logic around the Continuum of Care and Homeless Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing Program (HPRP) Annual Performance Reports (APRs).
