gen-E (, formerly generationE Technologies), a global IT process automation (ITPA) software company, today announced that its CEO, Casey Kindiger, has been named a semi-finalist for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year® 2012 Award in Orange County. The award recognizes outstanding entrepreneurs who demonstrate excellence and extraordinary success in areas such as innovation, financial performance and personal commitment to their businesses and communities.

"I’m very pleased and proud to have been named an Ernst & Young semi-finalist for Orange County, where the entrepreneurial spirit is thriving,” said Kindiger. “It’s an exciting time in gen-E’s growth, and being considered for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year awards is a highlight for me in a year that’s shaping up to be one of our best yet.”

gen-E has grown exponentially over the past few years under Kindiger’s leadership. The nomination comes on the heels of record year-over-year results in 2011 including a 100 percent growth in profit, 40 percent increase in revenue and 66 percent increase in headcount. In 2012, the company is fueling further growth by focusing on new markets and new applications for its award-winning Resolve™ Social ITPA software. First launched in 2009, the software combines automation with social media-powered collaboration and knowledge management capabilities to help businesses break down traditional organizational and process constraints, save costs and find more time for innovation.

Kindiger, whose technology industry experience spans more than 14 years, co-founded gen-E in 1999 as part of a group of workplace automation visionaries with a common interest in ushering in a new era of ITPA. Before gen-E, he consulted for a number of Fortune 500 companies at Deloitte's Enterprise Systems management practice, and earlier in his career, he served as the vice president of professional services for Tidal Software, Inc. (purchased by Cisco in 2009), a provider of intelligent application management and automation solutions.

Through the years, gen-E has been recognized with numerous industry awards, most recently earning the IBM Beacon Award for Best Industry Solution for Telecommunications, and the IBM Integrated Service Management Excellence Award.

Now in its 26th year, the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year Program has honored the inspirational leadership of such entrepreneurs as Jeff Bezos of, Michael Dell of Dell Inc., Herb Kelleher of Southwest Airlines, Fred Smith of FedEx, Larry Page and Sergey Brin of Google, Richard Schulze of Best Buy, Andrew Mason of Groupon, Mindy Grossman of HSN, Inc., Reid Hoffman and Jeff Weiner of LinkedIn, and many more.
